Happy New Year!

It wouldn’t be January 1st without talking about 2016 resolutions.  Well, more like goals.  I’ve always been a goal oriented person so lets see what I plan to do this coming year.

  1.  Deceiving the Bandit Lord:  I know I’ve talked about this follow-up to Stealing the Wolf Prince quite a bit this past year and yet its not done.  It’s the first thing I’m going to tick off my list in 2016.  It’s 48k words and I’ve edited about 5 chapters worth so far.  I’ll get it whipped into shape, let my beta readers rip it up, fix it, then send it to my publisher.  Etopia Press will determine the release date but they like to move at a quick pace.
  2. Star-Crossed:  I’m involved in an anthology project called Reflections of Love with five other fantasy romance authors.  I’ll be contributing a new fantasy romance novella to the project called Star-Crossed.  The story is still in the idea phase but I’ve got a strong grasp of character motivations and external/internal conflict.  Should be out mid to late 2016.
  3. Besotted:  My 2015 NaNoWriMo LOSER.  😉  I’ll be editing up this novella, sending it to my editor, and publishing this steampunk as soon as I can.  I’ll have to re-write some bits because I had points of view in the original I decided to cut.  Nothing too bad though and hopefully this can be done by the end of 2016.

I think that’s good for now.  Three projects doesn’t sound like much but keep in mind I also work full-time and have a family who likes to spend time with me.  Things are bound to come up that will disrupt my writing time. I’ll roll with what ever comes a long, I always do.  So that’s my 2016, so far.  What do you plan to do?

  1. I think those are realistic goals. I have two novels I’m working on, both were NaNo projects. I also want to focus on small projects to send to contests and magazines and such. Good luck to you and Happy New Year!
