A Little Check in From Moi!

Old Book

Stealing the Wolf Prince is closer to publication!

Content edits are completed on Stealing the Wolf Prince!  My time with my awesome content editor is over and now I am back to waiting.  Hopefully a copy editor will be emailing me soon so I can start that adventure.

I learned a lot about the editing process so far and I plan on applying what I’ve learned to book two.  Deceiving the Bandit Lord is printed out and I’m ready with my notebook and colored pens!  It shouldn’t take me long to get it cleaned up now that I am more familiar with the process.

Also, with this weekend being a holiday weekend, I plan on working on another short story.  A companion story called Requited.  Find out what Axel thought through the adventure of rescuing Kali.  It’s been fun to write so it should be super fun to read.

Celebrate Romance #Giveaway Blog Hop

LaBelle-Dame-Dicksee-LLets Celebrate Romance with a Giveaway and a Blog Hop!

I believe this painting is called La Belle Dame sans Merci by Sir Frank Dicksee.  This is one of my favorite romantic paintings.  It always inspires me to write or brainstorm.  I love Arthurian legends and the idea of chivalry.  I think most people want a knight in shining armor.  Someone to sweep us off our feet and take most of the struggles out of life.  *sigh*

Now for the giveaway!  Sign up for my newsletter and I’ll (randomly) pick one lucky winner to get a free eBook copy of Unrequited, my steampunk romance short.  🙂 Then follow the link below to other author’s participating in this giveaway.  🙂

Unrequited: Reviews

Unrequited

One way people choose books to read is by browsing the reviews.  I know I do this when I’m checking out a potential title.  So I need readers to get reviews and I need reviews to get readers.  What’s a gal to do?  Hit the ground running, that’s what I’m going to do.  I’ve asked some peers to give me some thoughts on what they think.  These ladies range from published author to casual reader, you know, for a broad spectrum of opinions.

Renea Mason, author of Symphony of Light and Winter, says:  Elle Clouse’s Unrequited is a romantic steampunk tale and even though short, doesn’t lack for action, romance and vivid imagery.   This promising start leaves you eager to find what else she has up her sleeve.

Aubrey Wynne, author of Merry Christmas, Henry, says:  Unrequited is a fun, easy read by Elle Clouse. The heroine, Kali, is an opera singer kidnapped by pirates. They are hoping to use her as bait to lure the infamous Axel the Black. When the dark and sexy Axel appears, sparks fly between the two. If you need a distraction and enjoy historical steam punk, this should be right up your alley.

Jessica, bakery clerk and avid reader, says: The beautiful opera singer Kali James and dashing yet dangerous air pirate Axel Black are brought together through trickery and intrigue in Elle Clouse’s steampunk romance Unrequited. This fast paced short is full of stunning imagery and masterful prose. How will Kali handle the situation she finds herself thrust into? And after meeting the infamous Axel, will he prove to be handsome hero or dastardly captor. Find out by reading Unrequited!

Rhonda, loan processor and avid reader, says:  This is a well written, fast paced book.  If you like romance you will like this book.  I can’t wait to read more stories from this author.

GoodreadsUnrequited is now on Goodreads so you can watch what people are saying about it.  Release date is scheduled for tomorrow!   Only a few more hours left to enter for a chance to win a free copy of Unrequited.

Unrequited: The Inspiration

DSCF9296The idea for this steampunk romantic short story actually come from an image posted by Science Fiction Romance Quarterly.  I’ve been a steampunk fan since Nintendo released Final Fantasy 6.

Steampunk is actually a sub-genre of science fiction and part of the alternate history branch.  Think of Victorian England or the Wild Wild West where steam power never went out of style.  I love the fashion and the tech.  Oh, and there are airships.  I heart airships.

Unrequited: The Cover Reveal!

Unrequited

It’s here!  Now you see the lovely cover for Unrequited, my steampunk romance short story. What do you think?   Yesterday I revealed the blurb but lets visit that again:

Kaliope James had heard the tales of Axel the Black and his nefarious crew.  His name struck fear in the hearts of men, both good and evil.  She never dreamed that she’d meet him face to face as he traded his own airship to save her life…

Unrequited should be available February 14, 2014 assuming no technical glitches or acts of God.

On the agenda for tomorrow, the inspiration behind the story.
