Progress & Some Whining

Just being honest.

Deceiving the Bandit Lord is in editing!

That’s the progress portion of this post.  To the left is the mock cover I used in 2012 when I wrote the book in the NaNoWriMo.  I’ve read through my draft in hard copy, made notes, I have a plan of attack.  So I’ll be diving into content edits soonish.  Etopia Press would like to see the first 50 pages as soon as I can swing it.  I’d really like to get this whipped together for a summer release.

Blurb:  What harm could come from impersonating royalty?

After years on the road conning wealthy nobles out of their gold, Kiera is ready to give up her life of crime and return to her childhood home of Cearbhall. She’s got one last job in mind, one that will see her set for life. What harm could come from impersonating a country princess to marry a prince and live wealthily ever after? Except her childhood home is nothing like she remembered. The king has gone senile, his younger sons rule with terror, and the crown prince is missing. The prince she’s to wed is only interested in siring an heir, and her future brother-in-law wants to get into her skirts. Deciding the grifter’s life wasn’t so bad after all, Kiera plots her escape. Before she can steal away, she’s discovered and thrown into the dungeon with a crazed wolfborn to die.

Lachlan never thought that he’d see his childhood sweetheart once his wolfborn affliction set in. Nor did he expect to ever see daylight. Imprisoned in the dungeon since adolescence, his brothers have usurped the throne and trail evil in their wake. When Kiera lands in the dungeon with him, he recovers his will to put things right. Kiera may not remember him, but he remembers her, and Lachlan vows to save her from his brothers and their schemes.

Except Kiera wields a power unlike any other, and she doesn’t need saving. But the people of Cearbhall do. As Kiera and Lachlan fight the evil princes, they uncover a greater magic in the world around them, and a powerful magic between them that can’t be denied…

Stealing the Wolf Prince is Delayed

Nora Roberts QuoteSuccess is Never a Straight Line

Sometimes the road to success feels like a step backwards!  Stealing the Wolf Prince is going to be delayed a bit due to unforeseen circumstances.  Never fear, you will be able to purchase my lovely fantasy romance, just not this Friday.

Writing by the Seat of Your Pants will go back to its original release date of October 1st so if you like non-fiction articles, there you go.

Help Me Choose!

MusicYou like music, right?

I’m trying to select some background music for a book trailer for Stealing the Wolf Prince, my fantasy romance with Irish influence.  I’ve narrowed it down to two royalty free tracks and now I need help deciding which to use.  Clicks on the link to listen!

1)  Moorland – This has Uilleann pipes, which I love, and percussion.  Its very dark and somber, slight build through the piece but nothing climactic.  The feel is right but I fear it’s too somber for a romance novel trailer.

2)  The Pyre – This has cellos, mandolins (love!), percussion, and violins in the second half. The strings keep the Irish tone but the overall affect is medieval. I feel this has a more positive feel than Moorland but doesn’t have the mystery so much.

Both are good but I’ll only get a small 30 to 45 second chunk of music for my trailer.  Which would you more associate with a fantasy romance?  Stealing the Wolf Prince was described as a fairy tale by my editor so there is a mystical property to the novel as well.

A Dash of Romance #FREE

Dash of RomanceFree eBook!

Since my flash fiction for the Starry Night’s Blog Hop was so well received I thought I’d start flash fiction anthology collection.  You can download it for free through LeanPub as an eBook here.  Available in PDF, epub, and mobi.

My plan is to add flash fictions here or there and LeanPub allows for me to update the eBook at any time.  If you get your free copy,  you will get an update when a new story has been added.  I have a kindle and it was easy for me to update the novel I’m following.  Easy peasy and enjoy!

I’m not 100% happy with the cover, might fiddle with that later.  Now, to return to edits on Stealing the Wolf Prince.  Wish me luck!

Start WritingStealing the Wolf Prince: Editing Mode Activate!

So I heard from my editor and we are going to do some more content edits on Stealing the Wolf Prince.  I really like what we have done so far so I look forward to seeing how we can make it even better.

I think I will have the weekend free before I receive my edits so I have a lot planned.  I want to work on a site overhaul.  New graphics, new layout, more sparkles and fun.

I’m not going to post my book reviews here since this blog is for my own books but I’ll still write them and post to Star-Crossed Romance.  They promote sci-fi and fantasy romance.

I also have some plans for free stuff for you!  Warning: not all of it is writing.  I have other talents and you’ll get to learn all about then in the future!  They will relate to my series in a fashion but be open minded.

I hope to get some precursory edits done on Requited and I hope to release that in ebook next month.   I have a couple beta readers going over it now.  After Requited is done, I’ll slowly start to work on the next novel in the series between Stealing the Wolf Prince activities.
