Review: Imposters’ Kiss

impostors kiss

Imposters’ Kiss by Renea Mason
Symphony of Light Book 0.5

An unexpected offer of a night with the innkeepers daughter turns into a lesson in love Cyril will never forget.

This short story is the perfect introduction to Renea Mason’s Symphony of Light series.  You can read this on it’s own or as a companion to Symphony of Light and Winter, the first in the series.  It is steamy and thoughtful all in a quick and fun read.  I dare you to read this one and not pick up Symphony of Light and Winter.  I know I’m looking forward to book two and beyond.

NaNoWriMo WIN

I took the day off from work to finish this year’s NaNoWriMo.  I’m sure glad that I did because I had gotten a little bit behind with some family emergencies and holiday fun thrown in for spice this November.  But Sweet Justice is written!  Now to let it sit.  I have some short story ideas I wanted to explore and I think that will be a great way to keep writing but not committing to anything major.  I’d like to keep things light this December.  I have gifts to knit for little people.  As with every year, I’M SO GLAD TO BE DONE!  And I look forward to it again next year.NaNoWriMo WINCamp NaNoWriMo runs a couple times in the summer.  I’ve never participated.  Perhaps I will in 2014?  Totally depends on my schedule at the time.  After writing 8k words today, the 5 day novel doesn’t sounds so absurd either  *kicks self*

Already Planning for November

So, I am already planning for the NaNoWriMo in November.  Even though I will have an eight month old baby, I’m going to try!  I was originally going to pass this year but I’m so used to participating that it would feel wrong not to try.  We’ll see how well I do in a few months.

I’m going to be writing a story idea that I got from a dream I had about a woman who falls in love with the super villain on accident.  I’m not going to into to much depth right now, it’s only the beginning of September, I’ve got some time.  There will of course be a few plot twists and nothing will be as it seems.

If you’ve been with me a while,  you know that I’m a pantser.  What’s that?  I write by the seat of my pants.  😉  But this year, since I know I’ll have distractions, what with my little ones, I’m working on an outline.  *gasp*  It’s only 74 degrees in Hell today.  😉  Yes, an outline.  The mere act of writing down my events had actually helped me add depth to my characters.  Can’t all be that bad then huh?

I’m hoping with an outline, it will help me keep on task and give me a better chance at completing the competition.  I like winning the NaNoWriMo.  It makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.  I’ll be getting most of my words in on the weekend and I’ll need a clear vision as to where I need to go.

I’ve also been doing ‘research’ and watching super hero movies a lot.  My favorite so far is Mega Mind but I’ve watched the new and shiny and the old and campy.  No cape will go unfurled, no mask unsecured.   😉  All for the love of writing.
