I thought that I’d share with you this awesome NaNoWriMo desktop image. It’s rather funny and oddly accurate… Counting down the days!
So, I was trying to think of a blog topic today since it’s a Friday and the 13th. My Google Fu brought me to this, which I think is funny and something I do not suffer from.
Sesquipedalophobia: the fear of long words. Also known as hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. Does anyone else see the irony?
Happy Friday, folks! For some, Friday is just another day in the work week but for many, myself included, it marks the weekend and two consecutive days off. In honor of the occasion and the positive reception of my previous attempt, here is another haiku:
In comes the week end
blissful delightful Friday
eight more hours ’til five
I don’t have much on the agenda for this weekend, just the usual family time and writing when I can. My outline for my November NaNoWriMo entry is coming along nicely and I am also utilizing character profile sheets I found out on the internet. It’s really helping me expand my understanding of my own characters.
There are a lot of helpful resources for plot, scene, and character development, more so than when I started writing years ago. It’s really nice to have access to these tools, although it doesn’t make or break me as a writer. That’s all about drive, which I have in spades. Patience… Not so much.
Although, if I had to hand write all my stories with a quill and bottle of ink on parchment, I might rethink this whole writing thing. I can’t imagine the hand cramps I’d get!
Like most people, Mondays are not one of my favorite days. I generally need a glass of get up and go. So much so that I decided to write a haiku about it.
Bitter coffee taste
how I abhor you, and yet
how I love you, too.
Now, I am not a poet but I am not soulless either. Mmmm, coffee. Any one up for a haiku a day for a year?
Edit: I just realized its Tuesday. *fail*
So, I thought that this would be fun to share. It’s a Random Romance Novel Title Generator I found while surfing the web for some inspiration. I was actually trying to rename “Stealing the Wolf Prince” and had hit a wall. So out of desperation I searched for a romance novel title generator and found this. Although not something I would use to rename my work, it’s quite funny and has provided me with a lot of amusement. Just generate a title and see what you can come up with. What is the first one you get? Leave it as a comment.
Mine is “The Assyrian Duke’s Lonely Bride”. If that’s not a bodice ripping trashy novel, I don’t know what is.
